More Than 65 Percent of Americans Agree - A Picnic Isn't A Picnic Without Hot Dogs

Hebrew National and TheMotherhood.com offer communities more than a picnic with the launch of the Better-Than-A-Picnic Picnic Tour

OMAHA, Neb., May 20, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --Grilling season is quickly approaching and mouths will soon be watering for a delicious hot dog. In fact, at least 65 percent of Americans agree that barbeques and summer picnics are incomplete without hot dogs, according to a recent national survey conducted by the hot dog experts at Hebrew National(R), a brand of ConAgra Foods (NYSE: CAG) one of North America's leading food makers. Additionally, 70 percent of respondents prefer their favorite franks grilled, the best way to prepare Hebrew National All Beef Franks.

With that in mind, Hebrew National, The Better-Than-A-Hot dog Hot dog, is partnering with TheMotherhood.com, the award-winning online community for mothers, for the Better-Than-A-Picnic Picnic Tour to kick off the summer grilling season. The Tour fires up community grills in nine cities and will begin at Randall's Island in New York City on May 22, 2010. Free Hebrew National Beef Franks will be given to park visitors, and there will be entertainment and activities for the entire family, including a special celebrity appearance in New York by Curb Your Enthusiasm actress, Cheryl Hines.

At each picnic, moms within each of the nine communities on the Tour schedule will hand select an organization in need and create a custom service project for each. All picnic goers will be able to participate in the fun, interactive projects for an opportunity to give back.

Following the Randall's Island Park kick off, the Better-Than-A-Picnic Picnic Tour will travel to eight additional cities between Memorial Day and July 4th.
